You will be reminded of this topic at the latest when a letter from the responsible primary school or the health office flutters into your house and your child is invited to the school examination.
Like all children, your child should of course get a good start at school, have fun learning - and keep it. In order to prevent school frustration from arising in the first place, we therefore take a close look at several areas of development when asking the question "ready for school? We therefore distinguish between
- the cognitive Development (thinking development), which includes logical reasoning, memory, verbal expression, quantity comprehension, number comprehension, and color, shape, and size perception.
- the motor Development (movement development), this is about size and body length, coordination, fine motor skills.
- The social-emotional Development; what about contact and work behavior, attention skills, and motivation to learn? How is the self-worth?
We have in our book "You can also learn to learn" in Chapter 3 have compiled a checklist that they can use to check some of the development areas already.
The answer to the question "is my child ready for school?" cannot be decided on the basis of individual abilities - or difficulties. Rather, it is important that you have a comprehensive general picture of your child's development.
If you are still unsure now, we will help you to check this.
Giftedness diagnostics
